Berlin Street Art Vol 4 – Various Artists

Another compilation of some of the best Street Art I have seen in Berlin over the last few months.

Where an artist has featured before you can click on their name to open other posts.

Paolo Cirio

Paolo Cirio’s Street Ghost project has resulted in blurred figures taken from Google Street View appearing on walls in London, New York and Berlin.  The images are wheatpasted in the same spot where they appear on Street View.  You can read more about the project on streetghosts.net.

Stewy

My first encounter with Stewy’s work was a flock of pigeons painted on a wall in London’s Stoke Newington.  Now I’ve spotted one of his pigeons in Berlin in the Hof featured in my A Berlin Hof Spot post.

El Bocho

El Bocho is an andBerlin favourite and has featured many times on the blog.  His artworks add some much needed colour and humour to the streets of Berlin.

Reka x Dscreet

This collaboration between Melbourne based artist Reka and London’s Dscreet is in the same Hof as the Stewy Pigeon.

Thanks to Mogli from Mogli Oak Berlin I can now give credit for two of the pieces that I originally posted as Unknown.

Isaac Cordal

This is the first time I have come across a piece by Galician street artist, Isaac Cordal in Berlin.  I’m embarrassed that I didn’t originally recognise it as his because I’ve known of his work for some time and even follow him on Twitter.

Great post! I wonder if this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/haiku_girl/7442952698 is a Stewy too? Spotted in Brighton ages ago.

It certainly looks like it Ali. I’ve seen some other pieces in London too – a dog, a cat and a fox.

I can help you out a little with your ‘unknown’ pieces…

The cement man has actually been there for a while and I think it is by Isaac Cordal (http://www.isaac.alg-a.org/). He did a bunch of installations around Berlin last year and was also at Artbase 2011.

The dancing girl is by SOBR (http://www.flickr.com/photos/steffireichert/5015727955/) I can’t tell you too much besides the name which is written on some of the pieces. But I have a feeling the artist maybe Hungarian, as there are also some around Budapest. But who knows.

Then the eagle is the one that has stumped me and my friends for a long time. I actually saw the guy (or guys maybe) working on it two days in a row, but I didn’t talk to them. I think from memory they were Mexican or from somewhere around Central America, but I could be wrong. I was told it was by one of the guys from The Weird who were having an exhibition when it was painted, but I kind of doubt it as it is not really like any of their work.

So that might kind of help haha

    Cheers

Mogli, thanks very much for the info. I can’t believe I didn’t think of Isaac Cordal. I love his work and follow him on twitter so I should have done. My only excuse is that I haven’t seen that particular figure before and didn’t realise he had been in Berlin. I’ll let you know if I come across anything that sheds any light on that last piece. If you’re anything like me, not knowing will be bugging you.

Better late than never, the pheonix is by Benuz Guerrero.

Thanks for letting me know Brent. I’ve updated the post to credit BENUZ. I think I’ve seen another piece by him at YAAM too so I’ll try to dig that out.
