Warsteiner sponsored Formula E team Audi Sport ABT drivers Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi were on hand to give their views on Formula E, the season so far, and the track on the abandoned airport at Tempelhof.

If you’re wondering what Formula E is, think Formula 1 for electric-powered cars.  As well as serving as a showcase for research and development in the car industry one of the aims of this new sport is to increase the public interest for the further development of electric vehicles and the promotion of sustainable transport.

The combination of Formula E and music in an urban environment is exciting not only for motorsport fans, but also appeals to many new and interesting target groups for Warsteiner.  Sustainable energy and innovation are also anchored in Warsteiner’s view for the future.  For many years, we have realised this vision in the production of our beer and consolidate it in the strategy of our sponsoring activities.

– Jordi Queraldt, Marketing Director of Warsteiner Group

The inaugural Formula E season started in September 2014 in Beijing and will end in June 2015 in London.

Having passed through the capital cities of China, Malaysia, Uruguay, Argentina, the US and Monaco, the eighth round of racing comes to Berlin’s Tempelhofer Feld on Saturday, 23 May 2015.

According to the organisers:

The tight, twisty circuit will see the 20 Formula E drivers tackle 17 turns over a short distance making it very challenging and a great spectacle for the fans.

If you’d like to witness the Formula E race in Berlin for yourself, the action kicks off at 08:00 on Saturday 23 May 2015 at Tempelhofer Feld – check the Formula E website for more details.  Adult tickets range in price from 19€ to 59€ (discounted tickets are available for children, students and senior citizens) and can be bought here.
