Following on from Monday’s post, London Street Art – Various Artists, here’s some more of the amazing work I saw over the course of two visits to my old stomping ground last week. I saw so much great stuff that there will be more posts next week.

As before, where an artist has featured on the blog before you can click on their name to access the relevant post.

C215

Girl With Colours In Her Hair - Street Art by C215 in East London

I first saw this C215 on Picturing England and then saw the same stencil in different colours in Berlin and posted it as C215 – A familiar face in Berlin.

EINE

Ben Eine hit the headlines in 2010 when British Prime Minister, David Cameron gave Barack Obama a piece by the artist entitled Twenty First Century City during his first trip to see the US President in Washington.

Some of the artists here, like El Bocho, ALIAS and C215 have posts dedicated to their work already (you can click on the artist’s name to view a linked post), though this post has Street Art featured on the blog for the first time.

C215 – A familiar face in Berlin

Girl With Many Colours In Her Hair: Street Art by C215 (Christian Guémy) in Berlin

I’ve been meaning to post a photo of this piece by C215 on Pfuelstrasse in Kreuzberg since I read Finding Faces: Street Art by C215 on Haikugirl’s Picturing England blog.

When I saw Haikugirl’s post I commented that I had seen this piece that uses the same stencil as one in Bacon Street in London that she had posted.

Love the colours, love the subject, love the artist.

You can see more photos of C215 in London here, in Berlin here or check out his Flickr stream or Facebook page for more.

C215 in London

C215 Tag - Street Art by C215 in LondonI was re-organising my photos a few weeks ago and realised that over the last few years I’ve seen a lot of C215’s work in London.  When I wrote C215 on Frankfurter Allee I promised this post would be coming soon but I’ve seen some great new stuff in the meantime and this post went on hold.  So, here we are.

C215 (real name Christian Guémy) is a Parisian street artist.  He favours portraits in his stencils, which often depict those marginalised by society.

C215 is very active in Paris and has done a lot to brighten up the streets near his home in Vitry-sur-Seine.  He also likes to visit other cities to display his work and luckily for me he has made a number of trips to London and Berlin over the years.

I’m disappointed that I haven’t had a chance to see the work he has done in 2012 in London (check out the excellent coverage by Hooked Blog and Street Art News).  And I somehow missed the work he did last year with AliCé, also covered by Hooked Blog.

The following photos were taken between September 2008 and January 2010 and are just some of my favourites of the work I saw in that time.

Smoker (London) - Street Art by C215 in London

Upturned Face - Street Art by C215 in London

Suspicious - Street Art by C215 in London

Smoker Behind Bars (London) - Street Art by C215 in London

This last piece was on the side of a shop in Brighton but it’s such a great stencil I thought I would include it here.

Crouching - Street Art by C215 in Brighton

Like what you see?  You should check out more great Street Art on C215’s flickr stream and Facebook page.

Berlin Street Art: C215 on Frankfurter Allee

Man In A Hoodie: Street Art by C215 (Christian Guémy) in Berlin

Old Man With A Beard: Street Art by C215 (Christian Guémy) in Berlin

I spotted these two pieces by C215 on Frankfurter Allee on a Street Art spotting mission in Friedrichshain.

C215 (real name Christian Guémy) is a Parisian street artist.  He favours portraits in his stencils, which often depict those marginalised by society.

Luckily for me he likes putting up work in Berlin and I’ve seen a number of pieces here already.

Like what you see?  You should check out C215’s flickr stream and Facebook page.

I’ve been a fan for a while and when I was going through my photos recently I realised I have quite a number of pictures of his work in London.  Expect a C215 in London post soon.

Street Art – February 2012

I’ve just got around to editing my Street Art photos from February and created a gallery for the pick of them here.  All the photos from my ‘A Berlin Hof Spot’ post are included and some extras from that Hof near Café Cinema.

Is it me or does this C215 piece bear a resemblance to the clown I posted a photo of on Monday?

Manic in the Sun: Street Art by C215 in Berlin

Back to Kreuzberg

Cat In A Doorway: Street Art by C215 in Berlin

I was back wandering around the streets of Kreuzberg today and spotted another great C215 piece in a doorway near Görlitzer Bahnhof.

When I got back home and was sorting through my photos I realised that I need to find a way to track where I have been in Berlin and what is left to explore.

I’m sure that there is a much more efficient, classy and hi-tec way to do it but I went out to a shop on Kastanianallee and bought myself a red marker pen and marked off streets on one of the free maps I got from the Melia Hotel.  I spent a good hour systematically checking the map and marking off the streets I’ve walked along since I arrived in Berlin last November.

It’s made me realise just how much of Berlin I haven’t explored yet.

Astronaut (Spaceman): Street Art by Victor Ash in Berlin

Before Christmas I went to Kreuzberg with my camera to get a picture of this Street Art piece by Victor Ash of an Astronaut (Cosmonaut, Spaceman, take your pick depending on where you come from) and spent some time walking around but it was raining so my photos weren’t great. As it was sunny this morning when I woke up I decided to head back and do some more exploring.

I got off the U-Bahn at Moritzplatz and wandered along Oranienstrasse as far as Görlizer Bahnholf walking up and down some of the side streets as I passed.  I then turned and did the same as I walked back along Oranienstrasse to Moritzplatz.

It was as I walked along one of the side streets that I walked passed a doorway with a veritable Who’s Who of Street Art.  These pieces by Faile, ALIAS and C215 were all in the one spot on Naunynstrasse.

Smoker: Street Art by C215 in Berlin

Black Hat: Street Art by ALIAS in Berlin

Usherette: Street Art by FAILE in Berlin

At some point I will add a gallery with more photos from my walk, maybe a best of January 2012 effort.

The January 2012 Street Art Gallery is now available here.
