Vhils in London

Street Art by Vhils at the entrance to the Leake Street Tunnel at Cans Festival 2 - September 2009

I featured Vhils’ work in Berlin in my Vhils – Go Forth post but I thought it was about time he appeared here again.   Here are a few photos of his work in London, including some pieces from the Leake Street tunnel for the Cans Festival.

I spent ages trying to find images from his Scratching the Surface show at the Lazarides Gallery but no joy.  I know I was there but maybe I didn’t have my camera.

For anyone unfamiliar with his work, Vhils (real name Alexandre Farto) is a Portuguese Street Artist.  His most recognisable works are created with chisels and small explosive charges, which he uses to remove the surface of walls to reveal his images.
