Berlin Street Art Vol 5 – Various Artists

It’s time for another Pick n Mix of the best Berlin Street Art I have seen recently from a variety of artists.

As in previous posts in this series, you can click on an artist’s name to see more of their work if they have featured before on andBerlin.

London Street Art Vol 3 – Various Artists

My wanders around London were very productive when it came to finding great Street Art. If you like what you see below you should check out my previous posts London Street Art – Various Artists and London Street Art Vol 2 – Various Artists.

As before, if an artist has a post dedicated to them you can click on their name to access that post.

It was great to see a number of pieces inspired by the Olympic Games.  I was gutted that I didn’t hunt down the Jimmy C Usain Bolt portrait featured here on Picturing England.

Jimmy C (aka James Cochran) in Berlin

A close up of The Artist’s Tears: Street Art by Jimmy C in Berlin

Jimmy C (real name James Cochran) is a Street Artist from Adelaide, Australia, though he feels equally at home in France.

Taking inspiration from Aboriginal dot paintings he has developed a painting style using drips and has shown in galleries as well as leaving many of his pieces in the streets.

All three of the pieces featured here were painted in Berlin in April.

The painting of The Artist’s Tears in Berlin marks the 10th anniversary of the original being painted in Sydney in 2002.

I found the following quote about this piece from the artist on No Way Art’s blog:

The painting became known as my signature painting and marks the merging of my interest in figurative realism in painting with graffiti or street art. I thought Berlin was the appropriate place to mark this occasion by creating a new version of the painting in the drip style. It is good to give this it a second life and to reintroduce it to a whole new audience.
